Hong Kong Day 1 - #Leggings去HK

On the 22nd of March we all met up at the airport for the first time as a group, and it was rather awkward at first especially with Marilyn and Sam because i've totally never seen or been around them before compared to Kevin and Princess (even though it was STILL awkward). Funny thing is cause everyone has been being like "wa you go overseas with people you don't know ah" and like, i was honestly quite hesitant at first because it was initially like only Jerlyn, Kim, and I and like i didn't know the rest of Jerlyn's friends. But like i guess i thought it would be fun, like going as a bigger group? So that happened. Really glad that we all became really comfortable with one another as the days passed though (-:

We took Singapore Airlines over to HK, for the main reason that it was really cheap for an SQ flight. Comfy, safe (at least i think it is), and good food so like what more to ask for!!!! Plus we took the A380 aircraft to and fro so that was rather cool.

Flight buddies for the flight to HK!!!! (Feat. Jerlyn's dog)

Airplane food has always been my greatest perk of riding in an airplane. Something about the appetizers, desserts, mains, AND THAT BREAD that's just really really good. This omelette and sausage wasn't the best though, i should have gotten the egg noodles it looked sooooo much better )-:

Also, you know how they say you always learn a lot more about a person when you travel with them. Well i learnt a lot about Jerlyn's sleeping habits on this trip. Like who sleeps like that on a plane, she looked like a mummy??????????? I got a shock when i woke up. (that round thing is her head btw)

And after 4 hours, we managed to get our sim cards (Jerlyn and I), get our train tickets (after much wandering around and being flustered for a good like 20 minutes or so), and board the airport express to Kowloon to meet Kimberly. It was funny because i was so afraid that i wouldn't be able to contact Kim because she was coming from China and like she didn't have data plan, things like that. But after like several international texts, i managed to get her to call me and we were on our way to meet her!!!!!!

In all honesty, Hong Kong reminded me slightly of Taiwan because it was really scenic and all. But maybe it's just them asian vibes LOL.

And at Kowloon, we met Kimmmmmmyyy!!!!!!!!!! After like a good 3-4 months ok no joke wow @ our friendship. Really missed the 3 of us being together???????

We then took the free shuttle to Yau Ma Tei and it was quite scary because it was really cramped and squeezy and there was just 7 seats left so we managed to get on, ptl.

And after roaming around YMT with our luggages like total tourists, we found the place where we were supposed to meet our host and then got to our apartment rather smoothly!

It was really clean, which i really liked, and it was sufficient, even though it was really really tiny, much tinier than i expected. There was hardly enough room for all 7 of us to hang in the living room, but it was rather cozy, and the sofa bed was amazingly comfortable LOL i slept there for like 3 nights.

We then went downstairs to get dinner and explore the Yau Ma Tei/Mongkok area. We also got the jidan zai?????? Super good cause it was so crispy on the outside but So SO SOOOOO amazingly soft on the inside, like ???????? Wat how is that possible.

We ended up at Tsui Wah Restaurant, which is like this rather famous chain restaurant in Hong Kong, but the food didn't exactly match our (or rather, my) tastebuds. Everything just seemed too salty and meh but oh well so much for our first hong kong meal LOL

We then went in search of sneaker street, which was nearby, but who knew WHO KNEW fa yuen street was suchhhh a long stretch, we ended up walking along that area that wasn't sneaker street.
It was cool though, cause Jerlyn managed to get a pair of loafers and Marilyn got a pair of boots. I couldn't get any shoes CAUSE THERE WAS NOTHING IN MY SIZE. Hong Kong people why are your feet so tiny??????

We then walked to Prince Edward and got home from there. We ended up sleeping at close to 3am???? Cause like #onlyonetoiletprobswhentherearelike7peopleinaplace.

But that was it for day 1. Hopefully i remembered everything correctly!!!!!!!

Blessed Good Friday!!!!! (-:
